1) Knows the basic concepts of public/community health and nursing science
2) Reflects the basic concepts of public/ community health and nursing science to their practices.
3) Cognizes the structure and the operations of the national health care system, volunteer and social health resource
4) Knows health care and nursing roles in unusual situations
5) Explains the roles of public / community health nurses in the fields of public health nursing practice (family health, school health, occupational health, elderly health, community mental health and home care)
6) Knows the changing health care needs of the public/ community
7) Identifies priority health problems of public/ community.
8) Plans and applies nursing interventions at individual, family and community level.

Course Contents

This course focus on protecting and improving the health of the individual, family, and the community groups in accordance with the basic concept and theories of the public health and public health nursing science. It defines the roles and the functions of the public health nursing basic practice areas (such as family, school, work place, elderly care and home health care).
