1) Knows the duties, powers and responsibilities of nursing profession.
2) Understands the concepts of human, environment, health and disease and nursing.
3) Understands that health protection, maintenance and promotion is a priority.
4) Comprehends that the individual should be handled in a holistic way in his / her own existence and that the target of the service is human.
5) Understands the reason of existence of nursing profession.
6) Makes the basic concepts of nursing and case analysis.

This course includes the basic concepts and principles of nursing.

Weekly Schedule

1) Course Description: Introduction, goal and learning outcomes Historical development of nursing
2) Nature and structure of nursing and health care system
3) Roles and responsibilities of nurses, legal regulations in nursing
4) Basic concepts and relations of nursing
5) Formation of values and beliefs, values in nursing
6) Nursing philosophy
7) Safe hospital environment and patient safety
8) Concept of care and nursing care
9) Theory / model definition-nursing models. Gordon's functional health patterns
10) The Role of the Nurse in the Health Assessment. Subjective Data Collection: Health Story Objective Data Collection: Physical Examination
11) Nursing process I
12) Nursing process II (Case study)
13) İndividual hygiene and self-care practices, ensuring tissue integrity and wound care. Examination of the skin.
14) Vital signs. Physical examination of cardiovascular system.
15) Course evaluation
16) Final exam
