Course Contents

Introduction to behavioral sciences. Psychology and it's branches. Psychology of learning. Classical conditioning. Fear, fobies and counter conditioning. Developmental psychology. Cognitive characteristics of preschool children. Cognitive characteristics of school children. Cognitive characteristics of adolescence, adulthood and elderly. Personality develoment: theories of Freud and Ericson. Ego defense mechanisms. Interpersonal communication skills. Starting comminication with patient: rapporting. Dentist fear and counterconditioning.
