Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1) To know the development of the concepts and rules of occupational health and safety.
2) To understand the basic principles of occupational health and safety and the importance of safety culture.
3) To know the basic concepts of ergonomics and work physiology and to have knowledge about ergonomic regulations and working environment designs.
4) Knowing safety and health signs.
5) Helping people to learn the risks that may occur in manual lifting and transportation operations and the occupational health and safety measures to be taken against them.
6) To recognize personal protective equipments and learn about the selection and use of personal protective equipment.
7) To learn the difference between risk and hazard and make risk assessment.

Considers occupational health and safety organizations and institutions, laws and statutes regarding these issues, occupational diseases and precautions, precautions and measures to be taken to the work environment, worker health and safety and their economic dimensions for a variety of media, explaining how to apply first aid.
