Introduction of the classification of materials, metallic materials, properties of metallic materials, selection of materials, structure of materials, types of bonds, the importance of crystal lattice systems, effects on material properties, principles of plastic deformation, problems, continuous heating and continuous cooling curves in metals and alloys, alloy and equilibrium diagrams, phase, concentration, component relations, lever arm relation and applications, information on iron - carbon metastable and stable equilibrium diagrams, temperature - time - conversion diagrams, some heat treatment information, steel and casting material standards, important mechanical and non-destructive testing methods.
