Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1) Explaining the defination, history, scientific principles, physiological effects, competition and security rules of swimming.
2) Practicing front crawl stroke, back crawl stroke and breast stroke techniques.
3) Applying the stages of training in the sport of swimming.
4) Applying the tecniques of swimming branch.
5) Practicing the rules of swimming competition.

Course Contents

This course equipts students with the knowledge of history, scientific principles, physiological effects, competition and security rules of swimming and aquatic skill development (floating, gliding and kicking), improving the ability in breathing, kicking, arm pull, coordination, diving and turns in front crawl stroke, back crawl stroke and breast stroke.

Weekly Schedule

1) Basic scientific and biomechanic principles of swimming
2) The basics of first aid and safety in water
3) Getingt used to the water.
4) Remain on the surface of water and proceed in water
5) Sliding in water and kick of foot in backstroke
6) .Pull the arm in backstroke
7) The technique of backstroke
8) Midterm examination/Assessment
9) Coordination of foot and arm in free style
10) Breathing and arm stroke in free style
11) Coordination of foot and arm in free style
12) Kick of foot in breaststroke
13) pulling the arm and coordination in breaststroke.
14) Performed turning and diving.
15) Lifesaving and first aid.
16) Final examination
