Course Contents

Physiology of muscle: Classification of muscles, functions of muscles, Contraction, Fast Twitch and Slow Twitch muscles, Control of muscle movements, Exercise and energy systems, Recovery, O2 dept Effects of exercise, Cardiovasculer system and exercise, cardiovascular adaptations.

Weekly Schedule

1) Metabolism and energy production ,carbohydrate metabolism
2) Fat metabolism, energy production in exercise
3) Emergency power system short-and long-term energy system
4) Muscle physiology of the nervous system and motion control
5) Types of muscle fiber and resistance and power
6) Muscle hypertrophy , skeletal muscle adaptation to training
7) Physiology of lungs and respiratory system; The mechanism of inspiration and expiration ,respiratory function tests .Volume and capacity of lungs
8) Midterm examination/Assessment
9) Regulation of breathing in exercise, respiratory system
10) Doping and ergogenic aid
11) Environmental conditions and the physiology of exercise, altitude and depth
12) Exercise in cold and hot environment
13) Hormones, regulating fluid and electrolyte balance of the endocrine system and hormones
14) The performance tests of Adaptation of aerobic and anaerobic training and metabolic adaptation to training
15) Exercise in elderly people
