Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1) To be able to learn competition rules related to running, jumping, throwing, walking and multiple branches which constitute athletics sports branch,
2) To be able to define the field and equipment of flat, disabled, flag conditions
3) To be able to define long jumping, triple jumping, high jumping, pole jumping field and equipment
4) Be able to recognize the field, equipment and tools of throwing the disc, the put shot, the javelin, the hammer
5) To be able to define the fields and equipments of multiple competitions and sports hiking branches,
6) To be able to define contest organizations in athletics

Course Contents

Categorization of track and field, analyzing the start for different running race, running technique practice, categorization of running race, categorization of throwing andpractice the techniques, relay race and techniques, interval, aerobic and anaerobic training practice

Weekly Schedule

1) Atletism classification, Reaction and start low exercises. Contest rules and equipment for speeding.
2) Contest rules and equipment for Long Jump. Long jump practise
3) Contest rules and equipment for put shot. Put shot practise
4) Contest rules and equipment for relay races. 4X100 m relay race practise
5) Competition rules and equipment for discus throw. Discus throw practise.
6) Start high and 800 m practise
7) Competition Organizations in Athletics.
8) Midterm
9) Contest rules and tools for javelin throwing. Javelin throwing practise
10) Competition rules and tools for 3-step jump
11) Competition rules and tools for hurdle race. Hurdle race techniques. 100m and 110m hurdle race practise
12) Competition rules and equipment for the High Jump branch. High- jump practise
13) Competition rules and equipment for hammer throwing, pole-high jump.4X400m relay race practise
