Recognition of Prior Learning

Lateral or vertical transfer student admission is carried out basing on the "The Transfer Regulations for Associate and Undergraduate Degrees, Double Majors, Sub-specialties and Credit Transfer Regulations among Institutions". The prior learning of transfer students is recognized as per the relevant regulations of Council of Higher Education and under the coordination of the Adaptation Committee.

Kocaeli University guarantees in advance that all credits gained and courses received by an Erasmus student after the mobility abroad will be fully recognized and transferred into Kocaeli University system and upon arrival with the approval of the authorities and the student. While preparing the" Erasmus Credit Transfer and Grade Equivalency Table" the ECTS grades are transmitted to Kocaeli University grading system.

Turkish higher education institutions are in the start-up phase about the recognition of non-formal and informal education. However; computer and foreign language skills that students improve on their own, are evaluated through exemption examinations by the university. Students who prove to be proficient in such exams are exempted from related course(s).

Program Competencies

• 1. Defines the production of sports services, service delivery stages, management of sports facilities and sports organization.
• 2. Interprets the ability to learn and apply the historical processes and current application rules of sports branches in the world and in our country.
• 3. Develops scientific research, analysis, analytical thinking and problem solving skills by using information technologies in sports sciences.
• 4. Examines the stakeholder disciplines of sports management, service delivery processes, organizations in the field, professional standards of sports management, problems and alternative solutions, and professional development in the field of Sports Management.
• 5. It analyses the laws related to sports management, the legal practices of national and international sports federations and sports clubs, the economy, cost and accounting analysis of these institutions and organizations, as well as the duties and responsibilities of people related to these fields.
• 6. Evaluates to take responsibility in the preparation and implementation stages of projects related to national and international sports organizations, to work individually and as a team member during the organization process, and to manage the individuals in the team according to their talents and competencies.
• 7. Explains the environment, health, safety and risk assessment, confidentiality of personal information, fundamental rights and freedoms, social rights, legal legislation, personal care, scientific and ethical values during the collection, interpretation and presentation of data related to the field of Sports Management.
• 8. Plans and re-analyzes projects and research using appropriate research methods regarding issues and problems related to the field of sports management.
• 9. Explains the theoretical and current issues required in the field of sports management, leadership, ethical behavior, communication skills and psychosocial areas, human resources management and planning, total quality management.
• 10. Analyses information about sports and health. It analyzes current sports events, sports practices and sports organizations in the world and in our country.
