This course provides knowledge on; Folk Dancing; Analysis of Music and Costume; Analysis of Characters and Personality Traits in Folk Dance According to Regions; Analysis of Culture and Folk Dance Relations; Teaching Folk Dance in Primary and Secondary.

1) Definition of Folklore; Definition of Folk dances; Historical development of Folk Dancing
2) The importance of Folk Dancing; Classifications of the dances; Single jig dance
3) Instruments accompanying Folk Dances; Marmara region "Çepikli" dance; its teaching techniques
4) Costumes; "Serçe Yengecan" dance, its teaching technique
5) Information about classification of folk dances; "Demirci Dereköy" three step Oguz Folk Dance; its teaching technique
6) Contest types; "Ağrı dağından uçtum Zeyno" dance; its teaching technique
7) Staging
8) Midterm examination/Assessment
9) "Oğuzlu Kırıkhan" dance
10) "Ali Paşa, Arzu ile Kamber, Ahmet bey" dances
11) Welcoming dances; "Esmerim" and "Leylim" dances; practicing the dances
