1) Knows the definiton of plant biotechnology, associates techniques and their use in horticulture
2) Knows theoretical backgrounds of organogenesis, somatic embryogenesis, somaclonal variation, haploidy, protoplast fusion and somatic hybridization, production of secondary metabolites, preservation of germlasms in vitro covered by tissue culture techniques and applies them to problems related to horticultural production
3) Knows background information about factors explaining the basis of molecular biology (chromosomes, DNA, gene, gene expression, protein biosynthesis etc.)
