1) Defines chemical composition of plants and mineral deficiency in plants.
2) Explains water and ion uptake, ion antagonism and water loss in plants and also define water cultures.
3) Explains the transpiration event, the relationships between water and cell and the synthesis of organic matter in plants.
4) Defines photosynthesis, light and dark reactions, photorespiration, photosynthesis systems (C3, C4, CAM).
5) Defines glycolysis, crebs, fermentation and other respiratory systems.

This course covers below topics; Plant physiology and its importance, water metabolism in plants, water intake and transport in plants, water loss and factors affecting them, nutritional metabolism in plants, uptake and transport of plant nutrients, transmission system in plants, carbon metabolism in plants, photosynthesis, respiration and factors affecting these events, physiological events such as growth and development in plants, resting, apical dominance, flowering, fruit set, abscess, hormones, primary and secondary metabolites.
