Amaç Tarımsal üretimin bağcılık, meyvecilik, sebzecilik ve süs bitkileri alanlarında mevcut potansiyeli değerlendirmek ve yeni teknolojileri kullanarak bitkisel ürün üretiminde verimi ve kaliteyi arttıracak lisans ve lisanüstü düzeyde öğrenci yetiştirmektir. Bu eğitim-öğretim faaliyetinin yanı sıra bahçe bitkileri ürünlerinin yetiştirme, sulama, budama, ıslah, biyoteknoloji, hasat ve hasat sonrası işlemleri konularında bilimsel araştırmalar yürüterek ülkemiz tarımına katkı sağlamaktır. Kabul Koşulları Kocaeli Üniversitesi Ziraat Fakültesi Bitki Koruma Bölümü'ne kayıt yaptırmak için ÖSYM tarafından düzenlenen sınavları başarmış olmak gerekir. Genel Bilgi Kocaeli Üniversitesi Ziraat Fakültesi Bitki Koruma Bölümü 2020 yılında kurulmuş olup, 2021-2022 Eğitim Öğretim yılında 30 kişilik kontenjanla aktif hale geçecektir. Bölümümüz 4 yıllık bir program çerçevesinde kültür bitkilerini gerek yetiştirme aşamasında ve gerekse onlardan elde edilen tarımsal ürünleri hastalık, zararlı ve yabancı otlardan korumak, tedavi etmek ya da bunlardan doğacak zararı en aza indirmek için alınan tüm teknik, ekonomik ve yasal önlemlere ilişkin eğitim ve araştırma faaliyetleri yürütmektedir. Programın ilk iki yılında genel olarak tarım ve bitki bilimleri ile hastalık/zararlı bilgisinin temel zorunlu dersleri yer almaktadır. Üçüncü ve dördüncü yıllar ise ağırlıklı olarak tarımsal savaş, sebze/meyve/bağ/tarla/süs bitkileri hastalık ve zararlıları, pestisitler, biyolojik ve entegre mücadele alanlarında hem teorik hem de uygulamalı eğitimlere ayrılmıştır. Dolayısıyla program kapsamında kuramsal dersler ile arazi ve laboratuvar çalışmaları gibi uygulamalı dersler de bulunmaktadır. Kocaeli University Faculty of Agriculture Plant Protection Department was established in 2020 and will become active in 2021-2022 academic year with a quota of 30 people. Our department is a 4-year program within the framework of the phase obtained from the cultivation of both cultivated plants and agricultural products, diseases, pests and weeds protect it from the damages that are taken to treat or minimize them all the technical, economic and legal measures conducts education and research activities. In the first two years of the program, basic compulsory courses of agricultural and Plant Sciences and disease/pest knowledge are included. The third and fourth years are mainly devoted to both theoretical and practical training in agricultural warfare, vegetable/fruit/vineyard/field/ornamental plants diseases and pests, pesticides, biological and integrated fighting. Therefore, there are theoretical courses and practical courses such as field and laboratory studies within the scope of the program. Apart from these courses, both field elective and University elective courses in different semesters allow students to focus on different courses and different areas of interest.

Recognition of Prior Learning

Lateral or vertical transfer student admission is carried out basing on the "The Transfer Regulations for Associate and Undergraduate Degrees, Double Majors, Sub-specialties and Credit Transfer Regulations among Institutions". The prior learning of transfer students is recognized as per the relevant regulations of Council of Higher Education and under the coordination of the Adaptation Committee.

Kocaeli University guarantees in advance that all credits gained and courses received by an Erasmus student after the mobility abroad will be fully recognized and transferred into Kocaeli University system and upon arrival with the approval of the authorities and the student. While preparing the" Erasmus Credit Transfer and Grade Equivalency Table" the ECTS grades are transmitted to Kocaeli University grading system.

Turkish higher education institutions are in the start-up phase about the recognition of non-formal and informal education. However; computer and foreign language skills that students improve on their own, are evaluated through exemption examinations by the university. Students who prove to be proficient in such exams are exempted from related course(s).

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading

Examination, assessment and grading procedure is mainly based on Kocaeli University Education and Training Regulations for Associate and Undergraduate Degrees Depending on the nature of the course various instruments such as midterms, final exams, short exams, presentations, assignments, projects, portfolios and applications may be involved in the assessment process of a semester on condition that students are informed about their weights upon registry. Contribution of these activities to final grading range between 30% -70% and So as to be eligible to take the final exam, a student has to fulfill the attendance requirement of 70% for theoretical and 80 % for practical courses. Once this requirement is fulfilled, attendance is not required again in case of a failure and retaking that course. Final grading of a course is determined on the basis of semester studies and final exam. Those with certified and officially approved excuses are also given a makeup exam.
