Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1) Knows the quartets and quintets and other quartets and quintets, as well as the Principal Makams and Principal Terkibs, which are used to form the makams in the Turkish Music sound system. Can read solfeggios of these.
2) This can write these quartets and fifths, Principal Maqams and Principal Terkîbs in different pitches (transposition) outside her own place.
3) This can hear these quadruplets and fifths, the Principal Maqams and the Principal Terkibs.

Course Contents

Solfeggio works belonging to the main makam and main terkib melodies in the Turkish Music sound system are sung in double, triple, quadruple and quintet intervals. These exercises are repeated on different pitches. Attendance to class is essential.
