Course Contents

Foundations of music: Staff, G and F clefs, whole note, half note, quarter note, technique of writing notes. Tetrachords, and scales. Degrees in major scale, identifying them by listening. Key signature and tone relationship. Vocalizing solfeges exercises which are in major scale in diatonic form, in 12 tones.

Weekly Schedule

1) Basic information, definitions, concepts (Music, melody, rhythm, sound, interval concepts)
2) Solfeggio, musical notes, staff, keys and their types
3) Note shapes, names and values ??- Sus signs, names and values ??- Octal (scale, interval, scale)
4) Human voice types and interval vocalization studies within an 8th range
5) The concept of rhythm, -2/4, 3/4, 4/4 measures, the beats of these measures in Western Music
6) Fa Key - Do Key types, naming and voicing of notes in the Fa Key
7) Scale (Sequence) Major-minor scale definition, arpeggios of these scales, theoretical and vocal applications
8) Exam
9) Ear training in the tones of C Major and A Minor, dictation and sight-reading exercises in 4-6 measures
10) Alteration (change signs), extension point, idiom bond exercises
11) Syncope, Auftakt (opening measure) definition, application, practice
12) Metronome, speed terms, nuance terms and application
13) G Major, F Major scales, arpeggios, applications
14) Interval exercises-General Repetition
