Course Contents

This course includes the concept and characteristics of entrepreneurship, entrepreneurship history in Turkey, development, and the future of property the reasons for success and failure factors in entrepreneurship, ways of being an entrepreneur, the aim of the process and business establishment, legal structure and the types of business, common characteristics of SMEs and SMEs, family companies, small business management function, and new management approaches, small businesses and new production systems, production function,small business marketing, SMEs' contribution to economic and social system, the strengths and weaknesses, organizations providing support to small businesses, funding sources, small business problems and solutions,the concept and practice of risk capital, advice to young people and success stories of entrepreneurs and entrepreneurs

Weekly Schedule

1) The concept and characteristics of entrepreneurship, business and entrepreneurship, definitions and properties, the general overview
2) History of entrepreneurship in Turkey, development, and future of the property, the types of venture capital, entrepreneurship concepts, future of entrepreneurship
3) Success factors in entrepreneurship: business opportunity, start time, management ability and experience,capital and credit opportunities, insurance against risk failure reasons : bad selection of foundation place the competition factor, inadequate capital, personal factors
4) Ways of being an entrepreneur: a new business start-up, buying an existing business, franchising, the aim and the establishment process of business : Market research and demand forecasting, organizational stages, the enterprise file preparation, selection of foundation place, business goals, responsibilities of business
5) Legal structure and the types of business: Individual businesses and businesses in terms of legal structure, size and other criteria, property,enterprises in terms of field of activity and size
6) SMEs and common characteristics of SMEs: the definition, characteristics and areas of activity family companies, the function of management in small businesses, and new management approaches, planning, organizing, staffing, coordination, management and audit functions,total quality management, reengineering, downsizing, outsourcing , benchmarking, learning organization
7) Production function in small businesses and new production systems: Production function, production types, scheduling, inventory control, and the new production trends and techniques, a full-time production, flexible manufacturing, computer-aided design and the future businesses

9) Marketing in small businesses :the concept of marketing and its definition, types, market research, marketing mix, electricity trading, niche marketing, target-oriented marketing, internal marketing
10) SMEs' contribution to economic and social system, the strengths and weaknesses: the contribution of SMEs in the economic and social system, the place of SMEs in world economy and their weaknesses and strengths
11) Organisations supporting the small business entities; sources of finance: Banks, cooperatives, KOSGEB supports
12) Problems and solutions of small businesses: financial solutions, procurement and marketing solutions, solutions related to export, increasing productivity in small enterprises.
13) The concept and practice of venture capital : What is venture capital,and what are its features and contributions to SMEs;practices of venture capital in Turkey and around the world.
14) Advice to young people and success stories of entrepreneurs : examples of successful initiatives, entrepreneurship stories, success factors
15) Explanation and preparation of the sample business plan template
16) Final examination
