Kabul Koşulları Mesleki ve Teknik Ortaöğretim Kurumlarının; Torna –Tesviye, Metal işler, Motor, Makine Ressamlığı ve Makine Teknisyenliği bölümlerinden mezun olanlar “ Makine” ön lisans programına sınavsız olarak girebilirler. Meslek liselerinin sınavsız geçiş için belirlenen bölümleri dışındaki bölümlerden ya da liselerden mezun olanlar/olacaklar ise ÖSYM Başkanlığınca yapılan Öğrenci Seçme Sınavına (ÖSS) girmeleri ve yeterli “Sayısal (SAY)” puanı almaları halinde sınavsız yerleştirme sonunda kontenjan kalırsa ek yerleştirme ile açık olan programlara öğrenim hakkı kazanarak yüksekokulumuz önlisans programında eğitim-öğretime başlayabileceklerdir. In order to be admitted to the program, there is no examination requirement for the graduates of Vocational and Technical High Schools such as; Turning – Leveling, Metal Works, Engine, Machinery, the Draftsmanship Department and Machinery Technician High schools. If a quota remains after the placement of such students, graduates of other types of high schools can also be admitted to the program on condition that they get the required score from math reasoning test parts of governmental test held by OSYM (Student Selection and Placement Center). Students can apply for lateral transfer within or out of Turkey in case a quota is provided for them. Lateral Transfer student admission is declared after the evaluation of the applicant’s academic standing. Machine Program aims to equip the candidates with industry oriented production methods, computer-aided design and manufacturing (CAD-CAM), maintenance and repair techniques, measurement and quality control, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, material identification and testing (destructive-non-destructive) and maintenance-repair techniques. The candidates are also capable graduate as intermediate staff who can undertake responsibility in management, in formation of a business, who can carry out tasks at a workshop.
Genel Bilgi Makine Programı endüstrinin ihtiyaç duyduğu yetkinlikte geleneksel üretim metotlarına hakim, sorumluluk alabilen, teorik ve pratik bilgiler arasındaki ilişkiyi kurmayı başarabilen, mühendis ile teknisyen arasındaki boşluğu doldurabilen, özgüveni gelişmiş teknik ara eleman yetiştiren bir programdır. Program of Mechanics aims to train technical staff well qualified on traditional manufacturing methods, ready to take responsibility, capable of associating theory and practice, standing in the breach between engineer and technician, enhancing self-esteem according to demands of industry. The candidates in the Program of Mechanics' are trained spesifically in the fields of machining (turning, milling and drilling etc.) and chipless manufacturing (welding, casting, rolling, wire drawing etc.), computer aided manufacturing-design methods (CAD-CAM), measuring and control, material inspection and analysis (destructive and non destructive inspection).
Mezunlar İçin İstihdam Olanakları Bir Makine Teknikeri her türlü talaşlı/talaşsız üretim ve teknik hizmet faaliyetinin yürütüldüğü her kamu/özel sektörde istihdam edilebilir. İmalat sektörünün yükselen bir müteharrik güç olması ve CNC tezgahlarının modern imalatta önemli bir yer işgal etmesi sebebiyle Makine Teknikeri bu alanda aranan ve en çok istihdam edilen eleman olmuştur. A mechanic can be employed in public or private institutions where any kind of machining and chipless production and technical service are carried out. Since the sector of production is an increasing power in and the CNC machines play an important role in manufacturing, mechanics are among the highly favorable employers. Graduates can be employed in quality control, planning, programming, processing, processor, control and automation and technical service and promotion units. The ones with self-esteem and equipped with necessary knowledge and skills can run their own business.

Upon a successful completion of the associate degree, so as to get a bachelor’s degree, students can apply to programs of Casting Education Industrial Technology Teacher, Naval Architecture Engineering, Shipbuilding and Ship Machinery Engineering, Ship Machines Management Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mold Education, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Education Materials, Science and Engineering Materials Engineering, Metal Education, Metallurgy, Materials Engineering, Automotive Engineering Automotive Education, Metal Filings AND Production Education, Design and Construction Education, Manufacturing Engineering on condition that they get the required score from Vertical Transfer Exam conducted by OSYM. (Student Selection and Placement Center).
Mezuniyet Koşulları Bu programda öğrenim gören öğrencilerin mezun olabilmeleri için bazı koşulları yerine getirmeleri gerekmektedir. So as to get an associate degree, a students should have at least 2.00 cumulative grade point average out of 4.00, should complete a total of 120 ECTS(30 ECTS for each semester ) credits including theoretical and practical courses and complete a total of 30 working days internship.

Recognition of Prior Learning

Lateral or vertical transfer student admission is carried out basing on the "The Transfer Regulations for Associate and Undergraduate Degrees, Double Majors, Sub-specialties and Credit Transfer Regulations among Institutions". The prior learning of transfer students is recognized as per the relevant regulations of Council of Higher Education and under the coordination of the Adaptation Committee.

Kocaeli University guarantees in advance that all credits gained and courses received by an Erasmus student after the mobility abroad will be fully recognized and transferred into Kocaeli University system and upon arrival with the approval of the authorities and the student. While preparing the" Erasmus Credit Transfer and Grade Equivalency Table" the ECTS grades are transmitted to Kocaeli University grading system.

Turkish higher education institutions are in the start-up phase about the recognition of non-formal and informal education. However; computer and foreign language skills that students improve on their own, are evaluated through exemption examinations by the university. Students who prove to be proficient in such exams are exempted from related course(s).

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading

Examination, assessment and grading procedure is mainly based on Kocaeli University Education and Training Regulations for Associate and Undergraduate Degrees Depending on the nature of the course various instruments such as midterms, final exams, short exams, presentations, assignments, projects, portfolios and applications may be involved in the assessment process of a semester on condition that students are informed about their weights upon registry. Contribution of these activities to final grading range between 30% -70% and So as to be eligible to take the final exam, a student has to fulfill the attendance requirement of 70% for theoretical and 80 % for practical courses. Once this requirement is fulfilled, attendance is not required again in case of a failure and retaking that course. Final grading of a course is determined on the basis of semester studies and final exam. Those with certified and officially approved excuses are also given a makeup exam.
