Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1) Identify the basic units that make up the PC.
2) Use the basic system components.
3) Make a standard PC how to assemble in a practical manner.
4) Explain hard disks, floppy disks, CD-ROMs, communication portals.
5) Express the working principles of modems, printers, ethernet and SSCI cards, sound cards and TV cards.
6) Design a new PC by combining all of the computer equipments.

Course Contents

Giving the information about lecture content and resource books, computers’ definition, history, classification, (their size, working rules, historical improves, operators), fundamentals of computers and their applications, the concept of hardware units, monitor (crt, lcd), the definition of pc tower, (especially atx tower), mouse, (standard and ps/2), keyboard (q and f), the structure, explanation and definition of how to work, main board, microprocessor, graphic cards, edo ram, sdram, rdram, the definition of front memory features, combining basic computer system and basic units, modems (internal and external), assembling a computer parts and connecting to internet, printers.

Weekly Schedule

1) General information about course content and reference books. Computer definition, history, computers Classification (size, shape of the study, according to the historical development, according to the processors), the computer's basic features and application areas.
2) The concept of hardware and computer hardware units. Monitors (CRT, LCD), PC case (especially the ATX chassis) presentation
3) Mouse (standard and PS / 2), keyboard (K & F) Description of the structure and operation
4) Introduction of the main elements of the basic system of cards
5) Introduction of the basic system elements of the types of microprocessor
6) Introduce to the basic system elements math processors and graphics cards
7) EDO RAM, SDRAM, RDRAM and the introduction of pre-memory properties
8) Midterm examination/Assessment
9) Introduction of a graphics card
10) The basic units of the computer's basic system and bringing together work to create a PC
11) Allows, hard disks, floppy disks and its variations
12) Modems (internal and external) and the computer mounted on the recognition by connecting to the internet
