4) Choose necessary controllers and some accessories for system operation and safety.

Course Contents

Requirements, types and applications, major components, refrigeration system accessories, automatic and electrical controls, special systems, installation and piping.

Weekly Schedule

1) Course content and information about resource books. Vapor compression refrigeration cycle and analysis
2) The basic procedures done in pressure-enthalpy (ph) diagram with the vapor compression refrigeration cycle
3) Multi-pressure systems, multi-pressure cooling systems and applications necessary for the calculations and applications
4) Heat load calculations, heat gain calculation of a cold storage
5) Heat load calculation for cooling devices using practical calculation methods
6) Compressor selection
7) The selection of a suitable manufacturer catalogs according to the calculated heat load, and numerical solution of problems on this issue
8) Midterm examination/Assessment
9) Condenser and evaporator selection
10) Selection of expansion devices
11) Selection from the manufacturer catalogs the expansion devices necessary for cooling
12) Dimensioning of pipelines
13) Cooling systems that recognize the elements of the main pipe lines and connections, main and intermediate pipeline sizing
14) Determination of the pipelines and their lengths using necessary assumptions, calculations
15) Types of cooling systems used in the condenser and evaporator and condenser and evaporator selection from appropriate manufacturer's catalogs
16) Final examination
