Course Contents

Introduction to programmable controllers. Functions. Comparison of programmable systems with classical systems. Central processing unit (CPU). I / Q input-output modules. Programming programmable controllers using ladder diagrams. Normally open and normally closed contacts. Internal relays. Latch. Start / stop button. Timers. Counters. Using comparative commands .Editing on monitors. Building ladder diagrams for different circuit applications. Analyzing the programming logic of the programmable controllers by using command list (STL). Troubleshooting programmable controller failures. To use the operator panel PLCs. Programming for the use on operator's panel. Writing messages. Identification of analog signals and their values.

Weekly Schedule

1) Introduction to programmable controllers and functions.
2) PLC operation, CPU, I / Q input and output modules .
3) Comparison of programmable systems with classical systems.
4) Programming programmable controllers using Ladder diagrams; Analyzing the programming logic of the programmable controllers by using command list (STL).
5) Normally open and normally closed contacts, internal relays. latch. start / stop button.
6) Timers.
7) Counters.
8) Midterm examination/Assessment
9) Using comparative commands.
10) PLC with a PC to run it online, editing on monitors.
11) To write the LADDER program of conventional motor control circuits.
12) Building Ladder programs for different circuit applications.
13) Troubleshooting programmable controller failures.
14) Using the operator panel.
15) Analog signal processing.
