Course Contents

Architectural structure of the patient file archives; the factors impeding the development of the functions of medical record; usage of the international classification of diseases (ICD-10) and coding systems; information flow from health care organizations to the governing institutions (statistics).

1) Use of computer in medical archive services (scanning of document, preparation of index, setting a file tracking system etc.)
2) Legal aspects of medical records

4) The location and safety of the patient file archives
5) the archive committee and its function in hospitals
6) Development of the system on International Classification of Diseases
7) Examples of the international classification system of diseases (ICD-8, ICD-9, ICD-9 CM and ICD-10)

10) The rule of searching a diagnostic code within the alphabetical index of ICD-10
