The course encompasses the scope and the development of behavioral sciences, and exploration of the role behavioral sciences plays among other social sciences. It also extends over the concepts of self-awareness, development of the self and explanation of how it functions, emotive instincts, explanation of human needs and urges, analysis of the development of the human self, study of the concepts of learning and perception, mental health disorders and the analysis of the defense mechanisms an individual engages to maintain mental health, communication process, communication between health personnel and the patient, behaviors exhibited during communication between health personnel and the patient and the analysis of the patient behaviors that impair healthy communication.
