Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1) Approach to the patients as a whole from a psycho-social aspect.
2) Prepare the patient to the operation by examining the general health status medically and psychologically.
3) Execute the appropriate method of anesthesia.
4) Answer the questions of patients and their families about anesthesia.
5) Work in coordination with the surgeon.
6) Make the necessary preparation in terms of the equipment and drugs before the operation, and also makes the necessary materials ready for unforeseen emergencies situations.
7) Recognize the extraordinary situations occurring helps the doctor in treatment.
8) Under the supervision of the anethesia specialist, make sure that the patient sleeps during surgery, and keeps the operation painless.
9) Until the end of surgery, monitor the patient's vital functions, and make necessary changes within his limits if there are any life-threatening or non-life threatening situations.
10) Protect the patient from mechanical and chemical influences of the context by closely monitoring the patient under anesthesia.
11) Apply the patient's fluid, blood and blood products during the operation.
12) Postoperatively, wake up the patient without pain by maintaining the patient's vital signs.
13) After the surgery, monitor the patient until they sustain their own life functions, and resolve any complaints.

Course Contents

the topics such as preparation before anesthesia, premedication and administered drugs, ensuring invasive monitoring, mechanical ventilation, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, upper airway anatomy and preoperative airway evaluation, intubation difficulties and complications, local anesthetic agents and complications, anesthesia systems, maintenance and sterilization of instruments, oxygen administration and preoxygenation the way, patient positioning and complications, wake up from the anesthesia and problems, complications during and after anesthesia, patient follow-up, types of shock and treatment, preparation of intravenous drugs and setting the device applications.
