Course Contents

The contents of this course, pattern design methods and rules are necessary to make information about the efficacy, hatai, rumi, penç, çintemani drawing techniques and composition rules, such as the traditional Turkish motifs and forms the basic shape of the surface area of tile is the ornament designs.

Weekly Schedule

1) The purpose of ornament design; importance of the pattern; definition of motif and water pattern.
2) Consider when drawing the pattern.
3) Sources of ornament design."
4) Methods of ornament design.
5) Compositioin ornament design.
6) Drawing of the penç motif according to the technique.
7) Drawing of the hatayi motif according to the technique.
8) Midterm examination/Assessment
9) Drawing of the stylized floral motifs according to the technique.
10) Drawing of the rumi motif according to the technique.
11) Drawing of the münhani motif according to the technique.
12) Drawing of the cloud and çintemani motifs' according to the technique.
13) Design water motif by using traditional Turkish motifs
14) Compose by using traditional Turkish motifs in the closed system.
15) Compose by using traditional Turkish motifs in the open system.
16) Final examination

9- Yarıyıl ortasında 1 Ara Sınav, yarıyıl sonunda 1 Final Sınavı olmak üzere iki sınav yapılacaktır.
10- In the middle of Semester 1 midterm, 1 final exam at the end of the semester will be two exams.
