2) Explain turbine generator technologies used in wind power system

4) Examine behaviours of transmission and distribution networks of wind power in the state of being strong and weak
5) Rewiew technical requirements for network connection of wind power plants and observation of regulations (grid cod)
6) Use energy storage technologies and FACTS device for wind power plants
7) Explain off-shore wind power system technologies

Course Contents

This course equips candidates with in-depth knowledge on the evaluation of the present status of wind power in the world and in Turkey, identification of the turbine generator technologies, power quality effects of wind power (voltage distortions, harmonic and fliker) ,examining the interactions of turbine generator technologies with the strengths and weaknesses of networks, wind power in transmission and distribution networks, technical requirments for network connection of wind power plants, observance of regulations (grid cod), the use of energy storage technologies and use of facts device for wind power plants.
