Course Contents

Fundamental principles of cost accounting and their applications to power systems/ Introduction to fixed cost and variable cost of power plants/ Escalation and Exchange rate differences/ Cost functions of power plants/ Calculation of electricity production costs per kWh for various type power plants (Thermal, hydro, nuclear, geothermal, solar, wind, waste)/ Economic power dispatch for thermal power plants/ Income table and balance sheet for power plants/ Calculation of installation cost per kilometer for overhead lines and underground/submarine cables/ Calculation of right-of-way costs for power systems

1) Fundamental definitions for cost accounting
2) Fixed and variable cost components of power plants
3) The parameters affecting installation cost of power plants (interest, escalation and exchange rate differences)
4) Calculation of electricity production cost per kWh for thermal power plants (for lignite, coal and natural gas -fired power plants)
5) Calculation of electricity production cost per kWh for hydro power plants
6) Calculation of electricity production cost per kWh for nuclear power plants
