1) To teach the fundamentals of vibrations andstructural dynamics.
2) To ensure a bridge between structural dynamics and control.
3) To give information about passive, semi-passive and active control.
4) To explain the operating principles of electromagnetic and piezoelectric transducers.
5) To provide information about potential useof piezoelectric materials as both actuator and sensors in active vibration.
6) To teach control laws used in activedamping
7) To be ability to simulate active vibration control system using Matlab/Simulink
8) To give some applications of structural control

Introduction to structural dynamics. Electromagnetic and Piezoelectric Transducers. Piezoelectric beam and plate models. Passive damping with Piezoelectric transducers. Active damping applications for flexible structures. Introduction to the working principle of the active vibration isolation. Simulation of active vibration control of structures using Matlab /Simulink Applications of active damping. Project work
