Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1) Students can determine types of layout of workshop and assembly plants, manufacturing and production systems and classify.
2) Using quantitative methods, students can decide on the place of establishment of the new facility.
3) Students can edit the workplace using the methods of line balancing.
4) Calculating the needs of workers, machines and required fields, students can generate Space Relationship Diagram and Activity Relationship Diagram.

Course Contents

This course, basic concepts, facilities and environment, facility design process, facility design relationship, pre-feasibility, Facility location selection, Facility location selection models and techniques, transport equipment, MODE, VAM, HUNGARIAN ALG., Plant layout quantitative criteria, a decision making method: ELECTRE, qualitative multi-objective decision-making techniques, systematic layout planning, operation process diagrams, flow charts and wimmert-method.
