Course Contents

Aim of course is acknowledge graduate students on Europe Communication Policies. Radio television administration, attitude of European Union towards public and commercial broadcasting, stages of broadcasting in European Union member countries, examples from these countries, audio-visual area and audio-visual policies of European Union, development of programme industry, preserving cultural diversity.

Weekly Schedule

1) Information will be given about the content of the course
2) Communication policies will be discussed in the study of communication problems.
3) In the communication policy the main approaches to communication researches will be discussed .
4) Business administration of Radio-TV operations will be described.
5) The public service of the European Union and its attitude towards to the commercial television broadcasting will be described.
6) The transformation process in communication policy: The European countries will be discussed.
7) The transformation process in communication policy: the European countries will be discussed.
8) Midterm examination/Assessment
9) Examples from various countries will be given.
10) Audio-visual area and audio-visual broadcasting policies of the European Union will be explained.
11) Information will be given about the development of programme industry.
12) What should be done for the protection of cultural diversity will be argued.
13) A general evaluation of the course is made.
