Course Contents

This course is designed to inform students about different perspectives on public relations concept and practice in order to gain a social perspective on public relations.

1) Introduction to the course. What is literacy, the meaning and scope of public relations literacy.
2) Common and alternative definitions in the historical development of public relations. Similar and different aspects of public relations with other fields
3) Public relations and ethics
4) Sectoral analysis in the context of public relations literacy: Examining the practices of public relations and communication agencies
5) Sectoral analysis in the context of public relations literacy: Examining the communication practices of public relations associations
6) Analysis for NGOs in the context of public relations literacy: Examining the communication practices of NGOs
7) Analysis for sectoral journals in the context of public relations literacy
8) Midterm exam
9) Analysis for the national press in the context of public relations literacy
10) International sectoral analysis in the context of public relations literacy: Examining the practices of international public relations and communication agencies
