Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1) She/he can classify destination package product components and examine their relationships within the destination system.
2) By defining the scope and framework of destination management and marketing, identifying differences between similar practices in tourism and other sectors, she/he can develop strategic solution suggestions for problems in practice.
3) She/he can suggest solutions to problems that may be encountered during tourism planning by conducting resource analysis in destinations.
4) She/he can prepare marketing strategic plans for tourist destinations by evaluating existing tourism marketing strategies.
5) She/he can determine marketing strategies appropriate to visitor demands, needs and expectations by examining visitor characteristics in tourist destinations.

Course Contents

This course includes discussions of topics such as stakeholder management in destinations, strategic planning, destination management and marketing organizations, and collaborations in destination management, with examples and applied studies from the international tourism market, following the basic information on destination management and marketing.
