Power System Analysis

Course Contents

This course equips candidates with knowledge on the concept of optimization, aim of the optimization and its applicability to the power systems, planning of power systems and optimization in planning process, mathematical models used in optimal planning studies, solution methods of the linear programming problems, load forecasting methods, reliability analysis, basic concepts of engineering economy, obtaining the optimal values in construction and operation of power systems, minimization of transmission lines cost with respect to voltage and cross-section, optimization of transformer stations cost with respect to voltage and current, total cost optimization of the system, definition and solution of economic operation problems, connection of power plants to interconnected system, real time measurements and state estimation in power systems.
