Course Contents

Definitions and basic concepts. Generalized coordinates and degrees of freedom systems. Mathematical models of dynamic systems. To obtain the equations of motion of dynamical systems. The principle of virtual work. D'Alembert principle. Hamilton's principle. Lagrange equations. Mechanical vibrations of linear systems. Systems to determine the natural frequencies and modes. Rayleigh's method. Dunkerley's equation. Holzer's method. Matrix iteration method. Myklestad-Prohl method.
