Course Contents

Candidates are provided with in-depth knowledge on analyzing the media representations of identity in the global era, identities, debates on the history of Turkey and even Europe, a variety of media texts of events analysis, the modernist nationalism, the new forms of nationalism in the global era,facing the popular nationalism in Turkey in the late 1990s , "European", "European identity" and identity in the light of these discussions about Turkey's place in the media discussions on representations.

7) Critical Approaches in Mass Communication Theories

9) The Concept of Gender
10) Construction of Gender in the Media. Women's and Men's Representations
11) Marginal Identities Presented in Media Content
12) Consumption Society Dynamics and Class Society Structure
13) Identity of Women and Men as Subjects of Consumption in Advertisements, Fashion Magazines and Magazine Supplements
14) Lives and Representation Constructed According to Social Media
15) General evaluation of identity representations in the media in the context of power and ideology.
