Course Contents
The concept of sustainability, sustainability in aviation; environmental impacts of airlines: noise, air pollution, global warming; important policy decisions on global warming at the national and international levels from airlines’ perspective; suggested solutions: SAF, new airframe and engine technologies, improvements in air traffic infrastructure and airport operations, fleet renewal and more efficient airline operations; economic policies: market-based solutions, taxes, subsidies, demand management; effects of sustainability policies on airline competition; evaluation of sustainability goals in the light of airline finances; sustainability and future of airline industry.
