Fundamentals of Bacterial and Viral Genetics, Replication and Analysis of DNA, Mutations and Mutagenesis, T4 Bacteriophage as a Model Genetic System, Bacteriophages T2 and T6, Bacteriophage T1, Bacteriophage T5, Bacteriophages T7 and T3, Bacteriophages Containing Single-Strand DNA, RNA-Containing Bacteriophages, Bacteriophages Infecting Bacillus subtilis, Bacteriophages Infecting the Archaea, Bacteriophage Lambda as the Archetypal Temperate Phage, Other Lambdoid Phages, Transduction, Genetic Transformation, Conjugation and the Escherichia coli Paradigm, Bacterial and Bacteriophage Evolution are introduced and analyzed in this course.
