Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1) To understand the reasons for mergers and acquisitions and to identify the wrong reasons
2) Knowing the historical performance of company mergers and acquisitions and understanding the reasons that affect this performance
3) Be able to describe and discuss the key stages that the parties go through in a typical merger and acquisition, from initiation to completion
4) To be able to apply appropriate valuation techniques to evaluate the assets of merging companies
5) To be able to define the main bargaining items between the parties in business mergers and to evaluate the economic effects of these articles on the parties.
6) To be able to describe the corporate governance problems that may arise after the merger and the methods that can be used to deal with these problems.
