1) Explain and define the term and relation of social structure.
2) Know the theories of social structure.
3) Understand, evaulate the sociological,historical social structure of Turkey.
4) Develop arguments, analysis and synthesis about Turkey’s produced politics ; connects between structure and politics.
5) Connect the diverse ingredients of social structure of Turkey,Understands the political,economical,culturel,legal dimentions ; Explain, comparesand analyse, evaulate, interpret critically the socio-cultural dynamics and process in mutual dependency relationship.
6) Differ the transformation on social structure in Turkey within the understanding of solidarity and sustainability, explain the various approachs about the actions, understand especially the quick changes of Turkish society by effects of golbalization process together with its reasons and results.
7) Deal with modern social issues related to Turkish society from the wide perspective provided by sociology, identify the social issues and their reasons existing in Turkey.
8) Analysis the recommended solutions to solve social issues existing in Turkey.
9) Understand the general qualifications of Turkish society and the sociological and historical factors which effects these qualifications.

The course is based on the idea that it is important the students are aware of the social, political, cultural, economical conditions they live in. Within the course ; changes in the social structure from Ottoman Empire to Turkish Republic; development characteristics of Turkey's social structure during the Republican period; special conditions of Turkish modernization; Turkish society and it’s general characteristics: Socio-demographic structure, population distribution; Social groups, classes, social stratification and ethnicity in Turkey, Social institutions of Turkey: Education, justice, health, economy, family, religion, population, migration and urbanization are discussed. In the process leading to the present-day Turkey, various aspects of social structure is generally investigated and discussed critically by going to the historical origins. The transition from empire to nationalization and the construction process of nationalization is what is focused on. Effects of the basic dynamics which constitute today’s Turkey on the process of social integration is setted out. With regard to today's issues and subjects in the social structure of Turkey the students are given homeworks they can do theoretical or field research. Conceptual framework for the social structure, urbanization and effects of urbanization on social structures in Turkey in historical process, the effects of popular culture and it’s influence on social structure, youth in Turkey: Challenges, values and changes, transformations experienced in the Turkey's social structure in the process of information community, globalization and Turkey 's social issues are emphasized. The course aims to teach the students properties of the community that they are going to manage.
