Course Contents

In this course we will study the major questions that political scientists ask and the ways that they go about finding out the answers, revolving around the problem of how to improve the character of democracy in contemporary countries. The course is divided into two parts: In the first part, we will begin the semester by examining the major themes and issues within political science. In the second part, we will shift to focus on the tools political scientists use. In this stage, you will learn about methods for collecting observations for study, including experiments, surveys, text analysis, and online data collection.
