Kabul Koşulları Çalışma Ekonomisi ve Endüstri İlişkileri bölümüne kayıt yaptırmak için ÖSYM tarafından düzenlenen sınavları başarmış olmak gerekir. Ulusal ve uluslararası eşdeğer bir programda öğrenim gören bir öğrenci ise üniversite tarafından kontenjan açıldığı takdirde yatay geçiş için başvuru yapabilir. Öğrenci kabulü, ilan edilecek koşullara bağlı olarak başvuruda bulunan öğrencilerin başarı durumlarının değerlendirilmesi sonucu gerçekleşir. It is required to be successful in the exams held by OSYM to register the Labour Economics and Industrial Relations department. A student having his/her education in a domestic or foreign university may apply for lateral transfer in case of an open quote is available. Admission of students occurs after evaluation of their academic standings. For detailed information, please check the related articles of "Undergraduate and Graduate Education Exam Regulation" of Kocaeli University. Students coming from a foreign university under a student exchange programme which is certified by an agreement by the university may register to the courses given in English in the department. Students in this situation may register Turkish courses in case of having sufficient Turkish knowledge.

In order to be granted a bachelor’s degree from the program, a student is required to be successful in compulsory courses listed in the schedule and fulfill 240 ECTS in total, and have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.00 out of 4.00. No qualifying exam is conducted at the end of the 4 year programme.
Program Genel Profili Çalışma Ekonomisi ve Endüstri İlişkileri lisans eğitimi akademik ağırlıklı bir program olarak alana ilişkin kuramsal ve uygulamalı çalışma içermekte ve en geniş bağlamda sosyal politika ile çalışma ilişkilerine yönelik bilimsel ve pratik açıklamalar sunmayı hedeflemektedir. Programdan mezun olan öğrenciler alandaki yeni gelişmeleri ve teknikleri takip edecek ve değerlendirecek yeterlikleri kazandıkları gibi, sosyal politika, çalışma ekonomisi, çalışma ilişkileri, çalışma sosyolojisi, çalışma psikolojisi, insan kaynakları ve çalışma hukuku alanlarında derinlikli bilgi ve beceri kazanarak bilimsel gelişime katkı da sağlamaktadırlar. Labour Economics and Industrial Relations department intends including all kinds of practical and theoretical aspects of the field of study, and it aims to provide scientific and practical understanding of the management of labour relations. It also trains the students not only as an expert of the field who are competent to follow new developments and techniques in labour relations but also to contribute to the scientific development of social policy, labour economics, industrial relations, labour psychology and labour law.
Genel Bilgi Çalışma Ekonomisi ve Endüstri İlişkileri Bölümü, Siyasal Bilgiler Fakültesi bünyesinde bir yıl zorunlu İngilizce hazırlık sınıfı sonrası lisans düzeyinde dört yılı kapsayan bir eğitim programı içerir. Program %30 İngilizce yürütülmektedir. Eğitim ve araştırma faaliyetlerini, sosyal politika, çalışma ilişkileri, işgücü ve istihdam, çalışma sosyolojisi, çalışma psikolojisi ve insan kaynakları ile çalışma hukuku alanlarında yoğunlaştıran Çalışma Ekonomisi ve Endüstri İlişkileri bölümü, bu alanda ilk ve en büyük birim olma özelliğine sahiptir. Çalışma Ekonomisi ve Endüstri İlişkileri bölümü öğrencileri, ilk iki yılda ağırlıklı olarak İktisadi ve İdari Bilimler Fakültesi’nin ortak derslerinden sorumlu olmakta ve sonraki yıllarda ekonomik ve sosyal yaşamın değişik yönlerini inceleyen zorunlu ve seçmeli alan derslerine yönelmektedirler. Labour Economics and Industrial Relations Department provides one-year compulsory prep class and four-year undergraduate study to its students within the Economics and Administrative Sciences Faculty. In this program, 30% of the total credits are given in English. The department mainly focuses on social policy, labour relations, labourforce and employment, labour sociology and psychology as well as human resources management and labour law as the first and the largest department within its study grounds. After completing predominantly common courses with the other departments of the faculty in the first two years, students take main department courses analysing different aspects of economic and social life in the following years.
Mezunlar İçin İstihdam Olanakları Çalışma Ekonomisi ve Endüstri İlişkileri bölümü mezunlarının çalışma alanları ulusal ve uluslararası ölçekte çeşitlidir. Bu bölümden mezun olanlar, kamu ve özel sektör işletmelerinin özellikle insan kaynakları yönetimi ile endüstri ilişkileri birimlerinde ve işçi-işveren sendikalarının farklı kademelerinde uzman olarak istihdam edilebilmektedirler. Çalışma ve Sosyal Güvenlik Bakanlığı ile Aile ve Sosyal Politikalar Bakanlığı bünyesinde müfettiş, uzman ya da ateşe olarak görev yapabilmektedirler. Mezunlar, çalışma yaşamında son yıllarda gözlenen değişime bağlı olarak Türkiye İş Kurumu başta olmak üzere istihdam danışmanlığı hizmeti veren tüm kuruluşlarda da görev alabilmektedirler. Graduates of Labour Economics and Industrial Relations program have a wide range of work fields. They can work in human resources and industrial relations departments both in public and private institutions and as specialists in different departments of trade unions. Beside those alternatives, they also have the opportunity to work as inspector, specialist or attaché within the Ministry of Labour and Social Security. Moreover, graduates increasingly find the chance to work in many institutions or companies offering employment consultancy service, notably Turkish Labour Institute due to the recent changes in working life. Moreover, the employment possibility in international institutions, namely OECD, ILO, and international joint ventures increases rapidly due to the foreign language profficiency.
Sonraki Eğitim Olanakları Çalışma Ekonomisi ve Endüstri İlişkileri lisans düzeyi eğitimini başarıyla tamamlayan öğrenciler, başvuru yaptıkları lisansüstü programların koşullarına bağlı olarak Akademik Lisansüstü Eğitim Sınavından (ALES) geçerli not almaları ve YDS, TOEFL, IELTS gibi merkezi sınavlar yoluyla yeterli düzeyde bir yabancı dil bilgisine, tercihen İngilizce dil bilgisine sahip olduklarını belgelemeleri koşulu ile lisansüstü programlara başvurabilirler. Upon a successful completion of the program, graduates can continue their academic studies at master’s and then doctorate programs in the related fields of study on condition that they get the required score from related test parts of ALES (Examination for Academic Personnel and Postgraduate Education) and providing that they certify their foreign language proficiency through central examinations such as TOEFL,YDS etc.
Mezuniyet Koşulları Çalışma Ekonomisi ve Endüstri İlişkileri bölümü lisans derecesi kazanabilmek için akademik danışmanın yönlendirmesinde dört yıllık ders planında yer alan derslerden her bir akademik yıl için 60 AKTS olmak üzere toplam 240 AKTS çalışma yükünün sağlanması, derslerde devam koşulunun yerine getirilmesi ve genel not ortalamasının en az 2,00 olması gerekir. 4 yıllık eğitim sonunda özel bir mezuniyet sınavı yapılmamaktadır. In order to have bachelor degree in Labour Economics and Industrial Relations department, students have to succeed all the courses in 4-year curriculum on condition that meeting 60 ECTS each year in two terms under direction of the academic supervisor, meeting the 240 ECTS requirement during the education period, providing the attendance obligation to the classes and having a grade point average of 2.00 out of 4.00. There is no final special examination at the end of four years programme.

Recognition of Prior Learning

Lateral or vertical transfer student admission is carried out basing on the "The Transfer Regulations for Associate and Undergraduate Degrees, Double Majors, Sub-specialties and Credit Transfer Regulations among Institutions". The prior learning of transfer students is recognized as per the relevant regulations of Council of Higher Education and under the coordination of the Adaptation Committee.

Kocaeli University guarantees in advance that all credits gained and courses received by an Erasmus student after the mobility abroad will be fully recognized and transferred into Kocaeli University system and upon arrival with the approval of the authorities and the student. While preparing the" Erasmus Credit Transfer and Grade Equivalency Table" the ECTS grades are transmitted to Kocaeli University grading system.

Turkish higher education institutions are in the start-up phase about the recognition of non-formal and informal education. However; computer and foreign language skills that students improve on their own, are evaluated through exemption examinations by the university. Students who prove to be proficient in such exams are exempted from related course(s).

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading

Examination, assessment and grading procedure is mainly based on Kocaeli University Education and Training Regulations for Associate and Undergraduate Degrees Depending on the nature of the course various instruments such as midterms, final exams, short exams, presentations, assignments, projects, portfolios and applications may be involved in the assessment process of a semester on condition that students are informed about their weights upon registry. Contribution of these activities to final grading range between 30% -70% and So as to be eligible to take the final exam, a student has to fulfill the attendance requirement of 70% for theoretical and 80 % for practical courses. Once this requirement is fulfilled, attendance is not required again in case of a failure and retaking that course. Final grading of a course is determined on the basis of semester studies and final exam. Those with certified and officially approved excuses are also given a makeup exam.
