Course Contents

This course covers;the concept of seismicity, aftershocks, foreshocks, earthquake swarms, the basic principles of probability and statistic, Probability, Probability Distributions, statistical models, maximum Likelihood Method, Akaike information criterion, Akaike information criterion model selection, hypothesis tests, the distribution of earthquakes, earthquake occurrence models, Poisson process, the time-dependent Poisson process, renewal process, determine the rate of change of seismic activity, the formation of aftershock models, the modified Omori formula and kullanıımı, magnitude-frequency relation, b value, p-value, stress relaxation model, earthquake prediction.
