Course Contents

Shaman, Dummy, Motion Plays, Sympathy, Semah, Juggler, Meddah, Karagoz and Middle Game of technical and aesthetic properties. Examination of dramatic demonstrations in the Ottoman Festivals. Students comprehend the importance of the Turkish National Theatre, the creation of traditional Turkish theater.

3) Formal features of the puppet. The structure, features and characters of Ibiş as a Turkish puppet.
4) Studies on puppet making... Demonstrations, applications...
5) Karagoze entrance. Discussions on the origin of Karagöz.
6) The formal features of Karagöz are examined. Construction techniques are examined.
7) Karagöz texts are analyzed. Partitioning is discussed. Analyzes are made in terms of essence and form.
8) The typings of Karagöz are examined. The social structure of Karagöz is discussed through types.
9) The acting characteristics of his dream are examined. The reflections of Karagöz on contemporary theater as essence and form are discussed.
10) Introduction to the middlegame... origin debates. Historical development, changes.
