Course Contents

Mass culture, is a reflection of commercial production and consuming. The standarts are perceived by the consumers as a culture. The effect of media and concept of popular culture will be examined in this lesson.

1) The concepts of culture, folk culture, mass culture an popular will be defined and different theoretical approaches to these concepts will be explained.

4) Functions of instutitional and national popular media in formation and transformation of popular culture.

6) Analysis and discussion on examples of film, sculpture, theatre and painting art.
