Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1) Understanding the control system elements and types of control systems.
2) To be able to obtain transfer functions by usage of laplace transforms and block diagram reductions.
3) To be able to obtain transfer functions with building mathematical model of physical systems.
4) Getting ability to investigate response and stability of the systems.
5) Getting ability to design PID controller of the physical systems by usage of Matlab/Simulink simulations.

Course Contents

Concepts in the fundamental control theory, Laplace transformations, transfer functions, block diagrams, mathematical modeling of physical systems, state-space analysis, time-domain analysis of control systems, transient and steady state response of the systems, Routh-Hurwitz stability analysis, PID control and parameters effects, Matlab/Simulink simulations.
