Course Contents

Definition of system, Definition of control system, open and closed loop control systems. Fundamentals of sensors. Temperature, pressure, force and light sensors, ultrasonic sensors, encoders. Application examples of sensors. Analogue and digital sensors. Definition actuators. Electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic actuators. Design of actuators. Definition control unit, microprocessor and microcontroller. Basic input/ output peripheral, analogue to digital converter and digital to analogue converter peripherals and calculation examples, timer and counter peripheral. Communication interfaces. Optical circuit isolation. Basic control circuit design.
