Course Contents

This course covers learning of history, the psychological benefits as well as basic techniques of chess at the elementary level, end of game, the finals, and landing theories.

Weekly Schedule

1) History and development of chess, chess board, describing chess pieces, examination of shah, king, queen,rook's movements.
2) Examination of pawn, knight's movements, taking pieces, practising.
3) Basic opening information, examination of castling movements, rules about castling, taking when crossing, practising.
4) Coordination of chees pieces, What is checking? What is checkmate? What is pat? Practising.
5) Checkmate exercises, two rook checkmate, one rook checkmate, checkmate exercises with queen, checkmate problems.
6) The ways of winning the game, what is notation? Applied games ( writing of games) end of games with pawn
7) Powerful and light instruments, coordination between pieces and pieces without defence, practising.
8) Midterm exam
9) Relative values of instruments, general strategies of strating, practising.
10) Basic principles of end of game
11) Taking pawn, position, pawn finals
12) Practising, what is quality in chess? What is superior quality and positional superiority?, numerical superiority, practising
13) Starting to chess, knowledge about the middle and the end of the game, practising.
14) Rules of tournaments in chess, Switzerland system, cycle tournament, practising
15) FIDE chess rules
16) Final exam
