Course Contents

Definition and importance of organic agriculture, basic principles: Ecology, Health, Care, Fairness, Development and Current Status in the World and in Turkey, Markets and marketing channels for organic products, Physical planning of organic farms, plant/animal production balance, problems in transition (conversion) period, rotation programs and successful case studies, Importance and preservation of soil fertility, Tillage and weed management, Disease and pest management, Organic production of perennials, Inspection and certification, Guarantee systems widely applied in the world and in Turkey (TR), NOP, AB, JAS, Bioswiss and others, Harvest and post-harvest handling in organic production, quality of organic products.
