Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1) Developing interpretation and reasoning skills related to Mathematics.
2) Explain advanced concepts related to product and quotient spaces.
3) State nets and filters, which are generalizations of the concepts of sequence and also the concept of convergence in these structures .
4) Explain the further topics in topological structures such as compactness and paracompactness and investigate the compactification.
5) Explain the concepts of connectedness, path connectedness, connected component and totally disconnectedness.

Course Contents

This course provides candidates with profound knowledge on fundamental concepts in topological spaces, subspaces, weak and strong topologies, product and quotient spaces, convergence of nets and filters, separation axioms, compact spaces, local compactness, compactification, paracompactness and product spaces of normal spaces.
