Course Contents

The study of the dramatic conventions before Shakespeare and their reflection in Shakespeare’s early tragedies such as Titus Andronicus and Romeo and Juliet. The course also includes the comparative study of Shakespeare’s and Aristotle’s approaches to tragedy through the analysis of plays like Hamlet, Othello, Macbeth, King Lear, Antony and Cleopatra.
