3) Apply Laplace transform to differential equations.

5) Comprehend fundamental concepts about partial differential equations.
6) Analyze Laplace, Diffusion and Wave equations by using seperation of variables tehcnique in cartesian coordinates.
7) Analyze Laplace, Diffusion and Wave equations by using seperation of variables tehcnique in polar coordinates.
8) Analyze nonhomogeneous problems by using seperation of variables tehcnique.
9) Analyze multidimensional problems.

Course Contents

Solution of ordinary differential equations with constant coefficients, Laplace transform, Series solutions of ordinary differential equations, Bessel and Legendre equations, Fourier Series, Fourier Integral, Fourier Transform,Introduction to partial differential equations, Boundary conditions, Separation of variables technique, Laplace, Diffusion and Wave equations, Solutions in cartesian and polar coordinates, Solutions of non-homogeneous problems, Solutions of multidimensional problems, Sturm-Liouville problems.
